Megami Magazine Creators Vol. 14

January 31, 2009

So I’ve been really busy this month which is why I haven’t posted anything recently. I got my copy of Megami Magazine Creators Vol. 14 a few weeks ago.  On the cover is a cute girl holding a bunny:

At first I thought she was a character from Shuffle, but then I realized that there were no girls that looked like her. She was actually drawn by the artist that designed all of the girls for Shuffle, Aoi Nishimata. Aoi is this edition’s featured artist, hence why her work is on the front cover. (more…)

Chaos;Head ep 12 Ending

January 20, 2009

It’s been a few weeks since Chaos;Head ended, but I never got around to writing about what I thought about it.

I know the Chaos;Head anime was based on a game, but I haven’t played it so I don’t know whether a lot of stuff was just left out or this is actually how things were meant to be. The beginning of the series was really good with the potential of becoming a popular psychological-horror-mystery type anime, but somewhere along the line it turned into another sci-fi + superpowers show. I was pretty upset when I realized that Chaos;Head was no longer a horror mystery and had done a complete 180. It actually reminded me of Scrapped Princess and Utawarerumono, both of which were good fantasy anime but then turned into sci-fi near the end. I guess the Japanese just really like their science fiction or something. Despite the change in genres, I thought that the ending might end up being good, but man was I wrong. (more…)

Sakura Nankyoku Nendoroid

January 8, 2009

A couple days ago I got my Sakura Nankyoku nendoroid in the mail. I had actually forgotten that I had ordered this figure since I placed the preorder for it last summer which was quite a while ago. Sakura Nankyoku a.k.a. Penguin or Pen-chan for short is from the anime Penguin Musume Heart (Penguin Girl Heart), a pretty good comedy to watch if you have time. (more…)

Megami Magazine Vol. 104

January 7, 2009

I finally received my copy of Megami Magazine Volume 104 on Friday. Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive in very good condition. The packaging was ripped and the magazine itself had bends and folds all over. Not to mention that it was frozen stiff from being out in -30C weather. I guess the post office had so many packages to deliver this past month because of christmas that they were less concerned about damaging stuff.

Nendoroid L Dies Again :(

January 6, 2009

Several months ago, my Nendoroid L figure fell off its shelf and snapped its neck as shown above. I suspect Nendoroid Light shoved him off since they were beside each other >.>
Anyways, I was able to fix it back then using some super glue and applying it so that only the broken neck piece was glued. Any excess glue on the body or head would’ve been bad because then I wouldn’t be able to change his expression anymore. Recently though, I’m sad to say that L snapped his neck again, and it was by my own hands 😦 (more…)
